New Ubisoft game Roller Champions leaks, title could show up at E3 – Polygon
Ubisoft’s next new title could be Roller Champions, a roller derby-themed multiplayer game. Existence of the game was first reported by Spiel Times via leaked art and video footage. Assets have also appeared on the ResetEra forums.
Roller Champions looks to be a Rocket League-type multiplayer experience with character visuals in the cartoon-like style of Fortnite. Art shows players skating around an inclined track. Each avatar is highly customized, with mismatched protective gear and an assortment of different kinds of skates. The lead player is holding a ball, while another is shown flying into the frame from the rear. The video shows multiple tracks, including brightly colored beach scenes and moody indoor arenas, at venues scattered all around the world.
Unconfirmed reports say that Roller Champions will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. Menus show both ranked and custom matches. It’s unclear if the game offers a local multiplayer option.
Reached for comment, a representative from Ubisoft said the company does not comment on “rumors and speculation.”
Ubisoft is having its usual E3 press conference this year. The event will take place on June 10 at 1 p.m. PDT, and is expected to be streamed live.
